Rafael Nadal will begin preparation for the French Open with a trip on home soil to the Barcelona Open.
Nadal will be searching for his 13th triumph on the clay courts in Barcelona after lifting the trophy first back in 2005.
Tournament director David Ferrer said: "Having Rafa in Barcelona is very exciting for the tournament and the expectation will be high to know how far he can go."
The favourite tag will be on Nadal going into his favourite surface and tournament and he will aim to begin in the best possible way.
