Nick Kyrgios was due to appear before Canberra court in a few days on August 2nd however that hearing has been postponed till August 23rd.
A couple of weeks ago Nick Kyrgios was enjoying the best Wimbledon runs of his career however former girlfriend Chiara Passari brought charges of common assault against him. The incident supposedly took place in January of last year with Passari making the accusation in December of the same year. Should Kyrgios be found guilty, he could be jailed for a maximum of two years.
At Wimbledon, Kyrgios was asked about the charges and he responded with silence as per the advice of his lawyer however, he added that he could say many things. Since then Kyrgios has not spoken about it and hired a legal team to represent him in the hearing. That will happen on August 23rd, one week before the start of the US Open.
The Aussie player is in the United States at the moment taking part in the Atlanta Open.
