Kyrgios had a subpar 2021 season, as the 26-year old was hampered by multiple injuries that cut his season short. After competing in only eight tournaments, he ended his season in September after another knee injury.
However, the former World No.13 exceeded even his own expectations when he captured the men's doubles title at this year's Australian Open, partnering with compatriot Thanasi Kokkinakis. Furthermore, Kyrgios pushed Rafael Nadal to three sets in the quarterfinals at Indian Wells. He also achieved success in doubles, finishing runner-up along with Kokkinakis at Indian Wells, and falling in the semifinals at Miami.
In a moment of reflection, and perhaps also taking a shot at his detractors, Kyrgios took to Instagram to reminisce on his season thus far. The Cranberra native shared highlights from some of his matches, with a not-so-subtle shot at his haters with the caption...."You see the sh*t I got going on, I'd hate too."
Kyrgios is scheduled to compete at the French Open this year, after skipping it in the past due to his intense dislike of clay.
