This was a match that was played on two different days due to a rain delay but
Nick Kyrgios proved better on both days 7-6(1) 6-2.
The first set was played yesterday and it was a very quick set between the players as both were quite spectacular on their own serve. Opelka was putting practically unplayable when he hit his first serve as he won all 15 points behind his first serve in the set. For a set that went into the tiebreak, that's utterly impressive.
The problem for Opelka was the fact that he hit his first serve only 47 % of the time. The 2nd problem was his inability to win a longer rally and that was his main problem in the tiebreak. Kyrgios was able to get himself to the tiebreak and he easily outplayed Opelka in it by adding a bit of aggression to his game. It was 7-1.
The 2nd set opened with both playing well but Kyrgios had a 30-0 lead when the match was suspended due to the rain. It was falling the entire night so the match continued tomorrow. Upon returning, Kyrgios immediately broke Opelka as the 30-0 cushion was enough for him to get a chance as Opelka failed to get into a serving rhythm.
From there Kyrgios cruised to a 6-2 finish.
