Grigor Dimitrov looked in control against Sebastian Korda in Washington however the American used a rain delay to facilitate a comeback win.
Dimitrov was playing a really strong match yesterday against Sebastian Korda as he was able to take the opening set 6-4. He broke Korda early in the match when the American was still getting warmed up and the crucial moment came midway through the set at 3-2. Dimitrov saved a couple of break points to hold the lead and eventually captured the set 6-4.
The 2nd set featured much better play by Korda as he was able to jump out to an early lead before the match got suspended due to rain. They returned a day later to play out the match and Korda was able to keep the pressure up winning the 2nd set 6-1.
Dimitrov looked far from his early level yesterday and the delay certainly did not help him. Both had to chance to refresh and recalibrate adjusting their tactics but it worked better for Korda. The American knew exactly what to do and kept applying pressure on Dimitrov with the Bulgarian folding. The final set was another cruise as Korda won 6-2.
