Roger Federer has accomplished a lot in his illustrious career, and as it seems like he may be approaching retirement,
Nick Kyrgios would like for fans to show more appreciation to the Swiss legend.
Federer has undergone two knee surgeries in 2021, calling it quits on his season soon after Wimbledon. The 20-time Grand Slam champion withdrew from the upcoming
Australian Open, stating his recovery process was taking longer than anticipated.
Kyrgios, who is known for his brash on-and-off court behavior, was surprisingly compassionate when asked about Federer's outlooks for the 2022 season.
"Roger Federer is on his back rehab and knee rehab right now to play only for half the fans in the world and himself," said the Australian. "Just appreciate it now while he is here."
Kyrgios will be competing at Melbourne Park in a few weeks, whereas Federer has stated that he hopes to return in time for next year's Wimbledon Championships.
