The world's best players take part in the Western & Southern Open, so we could also see the experienced Japanese tennis player
Kei Nishikori. In the second round, Nishikori faced his countryman Nishioka.
Nishioka pointed out the similarity of their names before the match with Nishikori. Young Yoshihito told reporters that his name was Nishioka, not Nishikori, not to be mistaken.

The game started better for a less experienced Japanese tennis player. He managed to break Nishikori already in the 3rd game. However, Nishikori later showed why he was one of the best players in the world and he managed to get back and take the set into a tie-break.
But in the 1st set, it was all Nishikori could do, as Nishioka beat him 7-2 in a tie-break.
In the second set, on the other hand, it was Nishikori who managed to get the first break and took the lead 4-3. But this time Nishioka showed the young blood of a warrior, and in the next game, he regained his serve.
Subsequently, he also won his serve and Nishikori's self-confidence fell to the bottom when his younger countryman took his service again and Nishikori lost 7-6 (2), 6-4.
Nishioka has won his fourth match in Cincinnati since he managed to pass through the qualifying. In the next round, the Japanese will face the young talent from Australia Alex De Minaur.
