Richard Krajicek would've been waiting with baited breath for this moment as
Jannik Sinner has arrived at the
Rotterdam Open ahead of the start of his post Australian Open action at the ABN AMRO as it is also known.
Baited breath as Daniil Medvedev who lost out to Jannik Sinner in the final from two sets up decided to withdraw saying he wasn't yet right and with him being defending champion in Rotterdam, it was a blow for the tournament.
Also Sinner was at the centre of some backlash that Open 13 Provence received for the wording of their withdrawal tweet last week as the Italian was due to play Marseille, but took a rest instead. But he is ready for Rotterdam and will find out his fate very soon as to who he will face in his first match as a Grand Slam champion.
Aryna Sabalenka on the other hand as the women's Australian Open champion has decided for a week off longer than Sinner and will not play in Qatar over the next week. But it seems to be full steam ahead for the Italian who could feasibly also usurp Medvedev as a legacy of the Russian not playing into World No.3. An interesting week awaits.
