Former world number one America’s
Andre Agassi posted a
video of training ahead of the next season of the
Pickleball Slam.
The second edition of the competition will be played in
February next year where Agassi will feature alongside his wife Steffi Graff,
former world number one Russia’s Maria Sharapova and legendary John McEnroe.
The 53-year-old posted a video on his official account on
the social media platform Instagram showcasing his preparation ahead of the
event with the caption: “Nothing can substitute for plain hard work.”
Agassi has had a great career at the highest level where he achieved
numerous milestones. He ended his illustrious career with eight Grand Slam
titles to his name. His most successful competition was the Australian Open
where he lifted the title four times.
Interestingly, despite winning less than 10 Grand Slams in
his career, Agassi managed to complete his Career Grand Slam by winning all
four major titles at least once. Other than winning the Grand Slams, the Las
Vegas-born also went on to win the Olympic Gold for his country back in 1996 as
he defeated Sergi Bruguera of Spain in the final of the competition in straight
sets with a score of 6-3, 6-3, 6-1.
