Taylor Fritz and Viktor Durasovic played the first match in Perth. World number 32 in the ATP Ranking dominated the match when he won both sets 6-2 after just 62 minutes.
John Isner was the man who could have decided the tie already after the second match. Isner won the first set 7-6 and he had 2 match points in the tie-break of the second set. But his opponent, Casper Ruud did not give up as he turned the match. Ruud won the tie-break of the second set 12-10 and broke Isner's serve in the third set to win it 7-5.
Austin Krajicek & Rajeev Ram were fighting for the last point in the match against Durasovic & Ruud. Krajicek & Ram had the upper hand in the match when they won the first set 6-4. But they lost the second set and the super tie-break had to decide the tie between USA and Norway. Ruud & Durasovic won it 10-5 to earn the first point in the group stage for Team Norway. On Sunday, Norway will be playing Italy for the chance to reach quarterfinals in Australia.
