Novak DJOKOVIC drops out of ATP Race to Turin Top 10 as Carlos ALCARAZ keeps pace with Jannik Sinner after Indian Wells

World No.1, Novak Djokovic seemingly has a mountain to climb to ascend the summit of the ATP Race to Turin after Indian Wells which saw the Serbian kingpin drop out of the top 10 entirely.

Djokovic who was shockingly dumped out by Luca Nardi at Indian Wells was seventh when the week began, but has since been usurped by Ugo Humbert, Tommy Paul and Casper Ruud meaning he falls to 11th. The Serbian has topped the ATP Race a record eight times, but given that his schedule is somewhat reduced, he faces a mountain compared to his peers.

The top eight currently qualify which means that Alex de Minaur, Andrey Rublev, Sebastian Baez and Ugo Humbert would be set for potential shock spots in Turin if it remains the same. Jannik Sinner remains atop the table after the latest week which saw him lose in the semi-finals. Daniil Medvedev also accrued important points with Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev both leading the chasing pack.

After being nowhere in terms of the ATP Race, Alcaraz has now risen into the top three and is keeping pace with his peers. It will now be interesting to see how this stacks up when it comes to the clay court season when in theory Alcaraz should come into his own. But so could the likes of Ruud and Zverev who are superb on the surface, so a lot to mull over.
