World no. 1
Novak Djokovic will recover from an abdomen injury in time for the season's first Masters 1000 tournament in Miami, adding three events to his early spring schedule.
The 18-time Major champion will seek the seventh Miami title from March 24 and the first since 2016, not playing well in the previous two Florida trips and seeking the seventh title. After Miami, Novak will return to Europe and compete at the Monte Carlo Masters, hoping for a strong start on clay and setting eyes on the first Principality title in six years. Novak defeated Rafael Nadal in 2013 and 2015 and will be the favorite alongside the Spaniard between April 12-18.
A week later, Djokovic returns to his Serbia and leads the field at the fifth edition of the Serbia Open, the first since 2012. Belgrade bought the Budapest license and will host the ATP stars at the Novak Tennis Centre by the Danube river. Novak won the inaugural event in 2009 and claimed the second title two years later.
