World no. 1 Novak Djokovic made a winning start at the Monte Carlo Masters, beating the young Italian Jannik Sinner 6-4, 6-2 after a solid performance.
After the match, Novak revealed that his documentary would be premiered in August in New York, ahead of the US Open. Novak announced this project following the Australian Open semi-final victory over Aslan Karatsev, saying it would feature details of his recovery from the abdominal injury experienced against Taylor Fritz in Melbourne's third round.
Novak's injury raised many controversies during the Australian Open's first week, clearly struggling against the American and not practicing ahead of the following encounters against Milos Raonic and Alexander Zverev. Novak endured those efforts and played at his best against Aslan Karatsev and Daniil Medvedev to lift the ninth Australian Open title.
"We are working on the film intensively, and we want to publish it in August, before the US Open, since we desire to host a premiere in New York. Depending on the coronavirus situation and the restrictions at that time, there will be either a live or a virtual event.
I'm excited about it. I'm working with a dedicated team of people, both from Europe and the USA. I hope to finish and polish the film in the best possible manner and on time. Also, I hope that people will enjoy it," Novak Djokovic said.
