Serbia’s legendary tennis star
Novak Djokovic has an
impressive record while playing against Britain players ahead of the
much-awaited
Davis Cup showdown.
Both teams are set to face each other in the quarterfinal of
the event after the draw was announced on Tuesday.
Britain’s team will vary of one player in particular and
his name is none other than Djokovic.
The 36-year-old holds impressive numbers against all of the
players present in the other team’s camp.
Against the former world number one Andy Murray, the current
top-ranked ATP player in the world has won 25 times in 36 meetings.
Cameron Norrie, on the other hand, lost three matches against
Djokovic whereas young Jack Draper also lost the only meeting against the
24-time Grand Slam winner.
Djokovic will be hoping to continue his impressive run as he
is coming fresh after lifting the US Open for the fourth time in his career
with a thumping win in straight sets against world number three Russia’s Daniil
Medvedev with a score of 6-3, 7-6, 6-3.
Britain managed to secure their place in the last-eight in a
dramatic manner after beating France.
In the decider, it was the pair of Dan Evans and Neal
Skupski saved four match points against Nicolas Mahut and Edouard
Roger-Vasselin and eventually came out on top with a score of 1-6, 7-6, 7-6.
