Former tennis player and coach Paul Annacone talked to the Tennis Channel about Andy Murray and what he needs to do next.
A few days ago, Andy Murray lost another match in 2022 and this one came against Felix Auger-Aliassime who was in control of that match from start to finish. The Canadian never let Murray think about a possible comeback and Paul Annacone thinks Murray must make some changes in order to be more competitive with the younger players.
He said:
"The biggest thing is, old habits die hard. We know that Andy Murray likes to be reactive, he likes to be a counter-puncher and rely on those tremendous defensive skills, but it's not going to cut it anymore."
Annacone also explained that Murray will probably do what is necessary and find a way to be more competitive but it remains to be seen whether that will be enough:
"People are too athletic, there is too much power. He is going to have to find a way. And he can, because he has a big serve and he has one of the best two-handers out there."
Murray will return to the courts next week in Doha.
