Stan Wawrinka is getting ready to return to tennis after not playing for over a year and he confirmed he will play the 2022 Roland Garros.
Wawrinka is a former Roland Garros champion from a few years ago but the Swiss player has not been on the courts since last spring. His last event came in Doha after which he underwent surgery on both of his legs. The 3x time grand slam champion has missed the four last grand slams last playing at the 2021 Australian Open.
His last French Open came in 2020 where he defeated Andy Murray. He confirmed his participation after an inquiry from the Le Parisien. His most memorable French Open came in 2015 when he defeated Novak Djokovic in a thrilling five-setter. Wawrinka also finished as runner-up in 2017.
