The Olympic Games mixed doubles entry list has been confirmed which begins on July 27 with a lot of big names involved in Paris in the coming week or so headlined with top seeds being Alexander Zverev and Laura Siegemund.

A good tandem who led Germany to United Cup glory in January, they have experience teaming together and more so than a lot of teams. As do Matthew Ebden and Ellen Perez who are the leading double specialists in the line-up.

Strangely, the Entry List comprises of both the doubles and singles ranking amalgamated so Sinner and Musetti for instance lead the men's doubles seeds despite never playing together. Coco Gauff and Taylor Fritz also semi benefit with Gauff being a highly ranked doubles player. Both her and Fritz are highly ranked in singles too so are third seeds.

An intriguing pairing with perhaps Gauff teaming with Eubanks or a doubles specialist on the team likely being a better fit. The former being due to their friendship off the court. But also it will help their cause having two top names high in the seeding bracket. Gabriela Dabrowski and Sara Errani are two doubles specialists, the latter still dabbles in singles but they will anchor teams with Felix Auger-Aliassime and Andrea Vavassori.

Unlike Gauff for instance, Sinner has not decided to play all three disciplines. Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari sit just above. They have teamed before in multiple events and are real trailblazers for their country.

But they nearly didn't team at all with Tsitsipas initially admitting he wouldn't team with Sakkari as he'd prefer to team with his brother in men's doubles. But he did a u-turn on that decision likely to the delight of Sakkari who now gets two chances for a medal. Elena Rybakina and Alexander Bublik also team together.

Other highlights include Eduardo Roger-Vasselin teaming with Caroline Garcia for home hopes France. While neutral wise, it is Daniil Medvedev and Mirra Andreeva. Two players who have experience teaming together from the World Tennis League. They compete as neutral athletes with defending champions Russia unable to defend their title.

Tomas Machac and Katerina Siniakova, a couple off the court are the only tennis power couple who are able to team together with Boulter/De Minaur and Badosa/Tsitsipas of course being of different nations. They likely sit as dark horses with both being handy on a doubles court. So they could be ones to watch.

Same can be said for Brit doubles specialist Joe Salisbury teaming with Heather Watson. So while the flashy doubles names appear early in the seeds, it is perhaps those late on who stand the best chance. Iga Swiatek was also denied her dream of teaming with Hubert Hurkacz. She attempted to team late with another partner but was denied before the Entry List was released. So stays at one chance and a very good one at a gold medal.
