After a long week of tennis we are entering the final two days in Paris and first up is Saturday with it's semifinal schedule of play.
It's a very interesting schedule of play despite only two matches but it's the semifinal matches so we will get to see the four best players at this event. The first semifinal will be between Daniil Medvedev and
Milos Raonic. For Medvedev this will be a very good one as he has struggled since the restart. Milos played well all week and his win against Humbert was especially impressive considering he almost lost that match. The two players have played two times so far in their career and Medvedev won both matches. He will be heavily favoured tomorrow as well but his recent struggles should present something optimistic for Raonic who will not back down easily.
The 2nd semifinal match will be between
Rafael Nadal and
Alexander Zverev. It is set to begin when the first one finishes and it's an interesting one. Zverev came into this event with a strong winning streak and good form. He played well all week continuing that form and he will like his chances agianst Nadal. The Spaniard has shown cracks in his game in his matches and his early struggles against Carreno-Busta were worrisome. For a time it seemed Pablo could easily win that match but Nadal found a way to come back. They played six times so far and Nadal leads 5-1. Their most recent match was last year in London which Zverev won but Nadal was out of form at that event so there is a caveat on that victory.
