Already considered to be the best clay-court player of all time after winning 13 Roland Garros trophies, Rafael Nadal has been backed to win a few more French Open titles by ESPN analyst Patrick McEnroe.

The former US Davis Cup captain believes that despite not triumphing at Roland Garros earlier this year (lost to Djokovic in semifinals), Nadal could still win a handful of titles in Paris where he to stay healthy.

“If he stays healthy, Nadal could end up winning one to three more French Opens,” McEnroe said, in a interview with TENNIS magazine. “That's a reasonable argument to make. It’s harder to make an argument that he can win multiple other majors at this point”.

The Spaniard was hampered by a foot injury for the majority of the 2021 season, skipping Wimbledon and the Tokyo Olympics before calling an end to his season before the US Open.
