Brother of the former world number one
John McEnroe,
Patrick, has criticised a fan for posting a hate comment on the social media
platform. The 58-year-old received a hate comment on the social media platform
X — previously known as Twitter — for revealing his NFL picks.
"I will reluctantly check it out. I have made a lot of
money betting against your NFL picks. I still have your brothers sweat drenched
Nike shirt he threw into the crowd at the US Open. Happy days. Framed," the
user tweeted. Following that, Patrick responded by saying: "Really? I'm
21-11 this year so far."
In response to that, another user posted a comment who
claimed to be a tennis playing himself which was a controversial one. "Your
riding on the coat tails of your Brothers Solid life and name of Commercial
Acceptance. Now you want to keep as political? Throwing your dumb ass out
anywhere for reasons. You had your chances to make a difference on your own...
Now its just sad,” he wrote. Patrick was quick to identify the hate comment by
stating: "Wow such nice comments from a fellow tennis person. All the best
to you my friend,” he wrote.
Patrick, who is the brother of the former world number one
John, was a professional tennis player as well. He registered his highest rank
in 1995 which was as highest as 28th in the ATP Rankings. The New
York-born finished his career in 1998 after winning just one title at the
senior level. On the other hand, his brother John had a very successful career
at the highest level as he finished his career after winning seven Grand Slam
titles. The 65-year-old finished his illustrious career in 1994 after winning
77 titles at the seniors level. He finished his career in the doubles category
in 2006.
