The top-ranked Americans could all be huge threats at this year's
Wimbledon Championships, according to former US Davis Cup captain
Patrick McEnroe.
With
Frances Tiafoe,
Tommy Paul and
Taylor Fritz all ranked in the Top 20, McEnroe believes the trio have a chance to make an impact at Wimbledon.
"You got three Americans in the top 16, all three of those guys could be factors at Wimbledon," McEnroe said. "I’ll see them playing this week on grass, I expect to see a couple of those guys in the second week at Wimbledon that means fourth round onwards. There's a good chance for one or two of them to go deep."
Although McEnroe believes the trio could make sone noise at SW19, he admitted he did not have much faith in their ability on clay.
"One of the messages I got on Twitter was what was the deal with the American men on clay?" he added. "I answered that I don't expect too much at Roland Garros and on the clay. Those three guys plus (Sebastian) Korda coming up, they can all be in the mix at the other Majors but not at the French, still not seeing it on the clay."
