Paul McNamee has no doubt that Djokovic's hamstring injury was genuine but the Australian called him the best player in the world for being able to win the event in spite of it.
Paul McNamee is the latest to back Djokovic after his Australian Open trophy runs firmly against any notion that he might have faked an injury at the event. McNamee has been a longtime supporter of Djokovic and he called him the best player in the world once again after the latest triumph which is hard to argue against:
"For the record, I’ve never seen Djokovic move that badly, or go for so many winners… it’s a no-brainer he was carrying an injury, but he was dedicated enough and good enough to overcome it. How? By being the best player right now by a good margin."
The injury was confirmed by Tennis Australia CEP Craig Tiley who admitted to seein Djokovic's scans.
