"Pretty shameful that the USTA won't fight for an exemption" - Sandgren blasts USTA over Djokovic and US Open

Tennys Sandgren has blasted the USTA for not fighting for an exemption for Novak Djokovic that would allow him to play tennis at US Open.

As it stands now Novak Djokovic will certainly miss the US Open as the only way he can play some tennis at the US Open is if he takes the vaccine. He didn't take so far so it's certainly not likely that he will do it now and that means he will miss the event.

There was a chance that the USTA would ask for a special exemption for Djokovic to enter the country but they quickly shut down rumours about that saying they will strictly follow government policy. Tennys Sandgren dind't like, not one bit and he vented on social media:

" Pretty shameful that the USTA won’t fight for an exemption for Novak. No surprise the government hasn’t changed it’s archaic policy. I can play but he can’t? Ridiculous"

Sandgren referred to himself in the tweet as the American is also not vaccinated against the virus.
