With the Western & Southern Open Cincinnati draw officially out, we know which players will face each other in the projected quarterfinals.
The top seed is Daniil Medvedev and if everything goes well for the Russian he'll face Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinals. It's important for Medvedev to reach the quarterfinal at least because that would mean he'll ensure his stay as world number one for another week.
The 2nd projected quarterfinal is Stefanos Tsitsipas and Hubert Hurkacz. Tsitsipas had a terrible stay in Montreal losing to Jack Draper in his first match. Hurkacz on the other hand is playing really well in Canada with a chance to play in the final as well.
The 3rd one might be Casper Ruud agaisnt Carlos Alcaraz. Similar to Tsitsipas, Alcaraz too had a terrible stay in Montreal getting beaten by Tommy Paul. The way he lost that match was worse than the result itself but he'll look to bounce back here. A quarterfinal against Ruud would be tough because the Norwegian is playing really well at the moment.
The final one would be a rematch of the Roland Garros match between Auger-Aliassime and Nadal. It was a fabulous match where Auger pushed Nadal to a 5th set but the Spaniard was able to come out on top and secure the match.
