Many have described
Rafael Nadal as very humble and former Canadian Open director Eugene Lapierre seems to confirm that.
The Canadian served as the tournament director for 21 years and oversaw every year that Nadal played at the event. He met him many times and talked to him enough times to see what kind of person he is and in a recent interview, he talked about it.
Lapierrre was impressed by the way Nadal conducts himself all the time saying:
"It's really impressive. He is careful with the volunteers, with everyone. He's the guy who could walk into a building, see people behind him, then wait to open the door for them and let them through. I found his candor very interesting. He is an ordinary and impressive guy at the same time."
It's not a different account than what most people have of Nadal and it's a reputation that followed him throughout his career.
