Rafael Nadal moved into the
Australian Open third round following a straight-sets triumph over Michael Mmoh in an hour and 47 minutes, sailing into the last 32.
Nadal scored a 6-1, 6-4, 6-2 win, controlling the pace and never facing a break point. Dealing with a back injury, the Spaniard stayed aggressive and hit 40 winners and 24 unforced errors to set Cameron Norrie clash on Saturday. Ahead of the second set's tenth game, Nadal enjoyed a couple of funny moments with apparently a drunk spectator, with a woman showing the 20-time Major champion a middle finger and shouting at him before the security carried her out off Rod Laver Arena!
Experiencing this probably for the first time in his career, Nadal stayed calm and kept the smile on his face, closing the set a few minutes later and continuing in the same style in set number three to move closer to the 21st Major crown.
"Maybe she has taken too much gin or tequila. I don't know; it was a strange situation, but funny at the same time. Sometimes there are people for everything around the world. Honestly, somebody doing the finger to me with, I don't know why, but was... I was surprised, but at the same time was thinking, 'Poor girl' because probably she was drunk or something like this," Rafael Nadal said.
