Milos Raonic came close to defeat in his match against Krajinovic at the Western & Southern Open having to save a MP to secure the victory after two and half hours of tennis.

Milos Raonic has been enjoying a solid restart to the season but in his match against Krajinovic, he came close to defeat. The Serbian himself has had a good campaign at the Western & Southern Open dispatching several notable players en route to the quarterfinals. Reflecting on the match in the postmatch interview he admitted to having doubts:
"There was a lot of doubt. He was serving for it in the second, [had] match point in the third. I was creating some opportunities early in both sets [and] I wasn't making the most of [them].
And it certainly looked troublesome for Raonic who had chances as he pointed out but missed many of them. His opponent played solid tennis all week and if he raised his level just a bit he would have beaten Milos. The Canadian kept his composure and fought inch by inch to secure himself a chance at victory.
"I just kept plugging away, knowing that guys haven't played for a while. I just wanted to do things well, and I got a little fortunate that it turned around for me."
His next opponent will be Stefanos Tsitsipas who has looked every bit of a favourite to win this event so it will be a tough matchup for Raonic. That match will be played on Friday as play was suspended due to the widespread protest regarding social justice around the USA.
When asked about that Raonic briefly said:
"It's very unfortunate, very sad. I'm hoping that there is a change, and I'm hoping that the actions that do take course over the next days, weeks, months, years — this isn't going to change in a day, really, to create a change, a systematic change that creates an equal opportunity for everybody, especially in the free world."
