Former World No.1
Novak Djokovic will have another opportunity to create history at the 2023
Roland Garros tournament, as the Serbian aims to add another record to his already distinguished career.
Djokovic currently has 22 Grand Slam titles to his name, and sits atop the list of male Grand Slam winners alongside rival
Rafael Nadal. The Spaniard also holds 22 Grand Slam titles, but recently announced his withdrawal from the French Open due to injuries.
With Nadal no longer able to add to his impressive tally of Major titles, Djokovic will be presented with the opportunity to win his 23rd title before the Spaniard. Furthermore, Nadal has been a roadblock for the Serbian in Paris, holding an 8-2 lead in head-to-head meetings at Roland Garros.
Their latest encounter in the tournament occurred last year, with Nadal prevailing in four sets. However, with the 14-time defending champion not competing this year, Djokovic will fancy his chances at not only reaching the final but also making history.
