"Rehab is rocking" - Federer excites fans with positive update

The former world number one has not played since being eliminated from last season's quarter-final at Wimbledon.

Following the event, Federer underwent yet another knee surgery and he's been recovering from it ever since. A couple of months ago updates started coming out with a degree of caution behind any bombastic announcement. Neither he nor his team would commit to any particular date of return with the 2nd part of the year the most likely outcome.

However, the 40-year-old posted an update on Monday night of him working out in the gym and added the caption:

"Rehab is rockinggggggg."

The news is the first overtly positive update from Federer in a while and it got fans buzzing on social media as the community patiently awaits his return to tennis.
