Former
Wimbledon finalist
Matteo Berrettini has recently parted ways with Italian
singer Melissa Satta, facing yet another difficult situation, this time in his
personal life. According to Italian gossip expert Pirrota, the couple broke up
some time ago.
Berrettini,
currently ranked world No. 124 in the ATP, has experienced irregular seasons,
grappling with injuries. His 2023 season concluded with just 23 matches played
and a record of 12-11, ending the year in August after withdrawing in the
second round of the US Open.
The
27-year-old tennis player has not been seen with Satta at private or public
events for some time. Berrettini is currently in Montecarlo, focusing on his
training to regain full fitness. Meanwhile, Melissa is taking a break with
friends in Sain-Moritz, without their son Maddox.
“He always
gets us. I have a bowler hat on a famous couple, the scoop is on an Aries who
is in crisis with his girlfriend,” said Pirrotta. “I’m saying, Matteo
Berrettini, who is in crisis with Melissa Satta. Let’s see if they will make it
to Valentine’s Day,” he added.
Matteo
Berrettini faces tough times
Former
world No. 6 Matteo Berrettini has endured a challenging period, grappling with
an ankle sprain involving a partial tear of the anterior talofibular ligament,
leading to the premature conclusion of his season in August. Prior to this, he
had been contending with abdominal issues that kept him on the sidelines during
the early months of the year.
Despite
initial plans to compete in the recent Australian Open, where he was drawn to
face the 7th seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, Berrettini ultimately withdrew from the
competition just a couple of days before it began.
Towards the
end of 2023, he acknowledged that the limited number of tournaments he
participated in would undoubtedly impact the current season. As of now, he is
yet to make his debut in the ongoing season, stating, "With my current
ranking, everything will be more complicated," in a statement made a month
ago.
