Iga Swiatek is a very hard tennis player to beat, even more so on clay and that's why she's the main favourite to once again lift the Roland Garros trophy.
Iga Swiatek was the last woman standing in Paris twice already in her career and she's the pick for many to do it again. The number one seed isn't playing as well this year as she did in previous years but she has the necessary skill to get it done once more. It remains to be seen whether she can do it again but there is a strong belief that she will.
According to former player Laura Robson Swiatek also has an intensity in her game, something the Brit feels is the biggest asset when it comes to her tennis:
"If it was that easy, more people could do it. I think, you know, you've got to play very well over several hours because she is just such a great performer. She's such a good front runner. It doesn't matter what the scoreline is. If it's six-love, five-love, she will still be just as intense on every point, and that's what makes her so difficult to beat."
There aren't many weaknesses in the game of the Polish player but there is one thing that can be exploited at this stage. Aryna Sabalenka showed it in Madrid and it's the second serve. If you can generate a lot of pressure on the second serve you might find yourself making the match competitive.
Robson agrees:
"I think you just have to try and take advantage of her second serve and look for the opportunities when they come your way. But she's not going to give you very many."
