The 20-time Major champion
Roger Federer is making finishing touches at his winter resort in Dubai ahead of his first tournament in 14 months in the next week's Doha event.
Roger has been sidelined since the last year's Australian Open, reaching the semi-final and skipping the rest of the season after two knee surgeries in February and May. After the second, the Swiss decided to leave 2020 aside and switch focus on 2021, working hard on his comeback and returning to the practice court in October.
Doing his best to recover in time for the season's first Major in Melbourne, Federer decided to skip the Australian Open and remain on the practice court for a few more weeks.
Federer is currently in Dubai, making the final preparations ahead of the Doha trip and feeling excited about entering the court after the most extended break of his career.
Roger will seek the fourth Doha crown and the first since 2011, facing Dominic Thiem, Andrey Rublev and Denis Shapovalov as his main rivals. Roger will try to shape his game ahead of Wimbledon and the Olympic Games, hoping to get back at 100% ahead of his beloved grass Major.
