Roger Federer is in London practising ahead of Wimbledon and all of his focus is on Wimbledon. Although he is officially listed as a player that will play at the Tokyo Olympic Games the Swiss ace will make a final decision after Wimbledon concludes.
Federer's last match at Wimbledon came in 2019 when he lost in a heartbreaking way to Novak Djokovic. He underlined Wimbledon as his main goal upon his return to tennis and he said the result will impact his decision to play at the Olympics. He said:
"Obviously, if I play really good here or really bad, I think it has an impact on how everything might look for the summer. Still,
my feeling is I would like to go to the Olympics. I would like to play as many tournaments as possible. But I think we decided now let's just
get through Wimbledon, sit down as a team, and then decide where we go
from there."
Federer practised with Andy Murray yesterday with both players saying the practice was intense. Federer has expressed his hope of playing in the Olympics but only time will tell if he really will. We will keep you updated on everything.
