Rublev wins opening match of Thiem's 7 against Struff

Andrey Rublev became the first winner at the Thiem's 7 when he defeated Jan-Lennard Struff in the opening match of the tournament

Although the match between Andrey Rublev and Jan-Lennard Struff was the first of Thiem's 7, before that we saw a match of 'Austrian Young Guns'. These matches don't count for the Thiem's 7 as it is a separate tournament for 20,000€ between four Austrian players. Alexander Erler defeated Jurij Rodionov 4-3(2), 2-4, 4-3(2). After that, Andrey Rublev and Jan-Lennard Struff stepped on the court for the first match of Thiem's 7.
Struff was leading since the very beginning of the match. He has won his service game and broke Rublev's to get an early 2-0 lead in the first set. However, Rublev took his service back, but Struff was leading all the time in the first set as he has won it 6-3. In the second set, we saw only 2 breakpoints, in the last game of the set when the Russian broke his opponent to for the 3rd decisive set.
The last set is played as a super tie-break and so the winner was decided quickly. Rublev led already 9-7 and had 2 match points, however, he didn't convert any, and then also Struff got his chance to win the match when he led 10-9. After that, the German got 2 more matchpoint opportunities, when he led 12-11 and 13-12. However, he didn't convert any of those and his opponent triumphed 15-13 to win the match 3-6, 6-4, 15-13.
