Casper Ruud caught himself spoiling things in the ATP Calendar this year as he let it slip that he'll be returning to Mexico to play Los Cabos but earlier than it is generally.
Ruud lost to Taro Daniel in Acapulco after playing very poor tennis since the start of the event. It hasn't been that good of a year for him overall but speaking about his plans next year, Ruud slipped up and admitted that he's looking forward to playing Acapulco and Los Cabos back to back. The problem with that is that the Los Cabos event is generally held in the summer as opposed to Acapulco which is played earlier in the year.
He said:
“Let’s see how the schedule looks for next year but I think that
could be an option. I think also Los Cabos is going to be the week before or
the week after Acapulco next year if I’m not mistaken so could be an
option to play both."
The response caused some confusion among the media members and then Ruud realized what had happened. He made a face and briefly joked about it: "Now you know."
That concluded the press conference.
