Casper Ruud has moved into the semi-finals of
Swiss Open Gstaad as his clay court dominance continues with a third title of the season in his sight.
This is after he took out sixth seed Benoit Paire in a 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 win who has once again had an excellent run this week and will head to the Triust Atlanta Open as one of the top seeds looking to continue his confidence boosting run into the US Open.
The third seed produced 13 aces and pounced on 13 double faults from Paire as well as only 39% winning percentage on his second serve and 1/4 break points.
While for Ruud, it was 85% on his 1st serve and 3/8 on break points win throughout and he will now take on Vit Kopriva who is the surprise package this week.
He followed up his victory over Denis Shapovalov by taking out Mikael Ymer while in the opposite side of the draw, Laslo Djere will face Hugo Gaston after wins over Arthur Rinderknech and Cristian Garin respectively.
