Andy Murray has been left thinking why did I send that tweet after a hilarious comment from the former World No.1 left him targeted by fans of the person in question he tweeted. That being global pop megastar Taylor Swift after Sunday's Super Bowl.
Wherever Travis Kelce, tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs goes, the cameras are pointed on his girlfriend with most of Sunday's Super Bowl win over the San Francisco 49ers centred around the Shake It Off hitmaker and that is exactly what Murray will be looking to do.
There was even Swiftie Specials on bookmaker websites on whether Kelce would propose or whether they would kiss after the Super Bowl such was the circus surrounding it and this has been going on during most of the NFL season. But Murray decided to poke fun at it in his own way.
He took a snide or some would say hilarious dig at Swift saying: "Congrats to @taylorswift13 on winning Super Bowl 58. A stunning performance."
"Andy don't be ridiculous. Taylor was his support person just as your girlfriend turned wife was when you were playing tennis," one fan replied.
"Jealousy doesn't look good on you Andy," another fumed. "Why do you have such a problem with Taylor? She was there to simply support her boyfriend. It's not her fault the cameras kept panning to her and it's not her fault that she was all over social media. Give it a rest man," another responded.
Another accused Murray of never watching an NFL game in his life despite Swift bringing fans to the sport who have never watched it either and were merely watching the Super Bowl to see the singer. "Andy Murray, a tennis player who had never seen an NFL game in his life. Shut it and shut up."
Others agreed with the multiple Grand Slam champion though, but safe to say his mentions were flooded this morning. "It's crazy how much they've shown her. You'd think she was the driving force behind the whole thing."
