Diego Schwartzman crashed out early in Cordoba and he believes that his father being in the hospital played a huge factor in his defeat to Cerundolo.
Diego Schwartzman is not having a very good year and even a return in Argentina didn't go that well. He faced his countrymen Cerundolo and the younger Argentine proved better beating Diego in two sets. Speaking after the match, Schwartzman opened up about personal stuff he's been dealing with, particularly his father's illness that saw him spent two weeks in the hospital every day:
"My father was hospitalised for three weeks and just came out yesterday. I spent two weeks spending hours in the clinic. They are not excuses, but perhaps I have less patience. I feel more frustration when playing. My personal situation affects."
He added:
"If you see me train, I'm doing very well, and that's how I feel on a day-to-day basis, but when it comes to competing, I'm not feeling my moments."
Schwartzman will hope things go better in Buenos Aires where he'll play next.
