Simona Halep and
Amanda Anisimova did not play that much of a competitive match with the Romanian player blasting the American 6-2 6-1.
Simona Halep continued her strong run in Bad Homburg with another superb win and this time around it came against Amanda Anisimova. The American had a decent run herself at this event but she was unable to find a good rhythm in this matchup and Halep was able to take advantage of that.
In the 2nd set of the match, Anisimova took a medical timeout for a physical issue but opted to continue the match. Halep simply overpowered her opponent from the baseline and she was rather superb behind her first serve. Halep saved both break points she faced and converted 2 of 3 she had for the 6-2 finish.
The 2nd set was even more impressive for Halep as Anisimova simply struggled to hit her serve her consistently. She did not serve that well in the first set and for a player who is so dependent it was a lot of trouble to overcome. In the end, Halep finished it off with 6-1 to move on to the semifinal.
