Roberto Bautista Agut played a much better match in Mallorca to down defending champion
Daniil Medvedev 6-3 6-2.
Medvedev won his maiden grass trophy at this event last year but this time around he won't be winning it. Bautista Agut proved better in straight sets taking advantage of the Russian's lack of patience in this match. Medvedev flirted with a loss to Karatsev yesterday but he was able to compose himself on time to win that match.
This time around it was not meant to be. Medvedev did have issues against Bautista in Halle as well but that time around the serve of the Russian bailed him out. He then found a rhythm and easily cruised. Mallorca has different conditions and more wind so the serve was not as effective as in Halle.
The Russian was also missing quite a lot and never found his footing properly. He was not too mad about his loss either probably remembering that it was vacation time for him. It's going to be a lengthy one for him as well due to Wimbledon but he won't mind.
The Spaniard played super aggressive attacking Medvedev's 2nd serve with a lot of succees. He got the benefit of Medvedev's nature towards the end of the match as well.
