Carlos Alcaraz took on
Frances Tiafoe in the Hurlingham exhibition event and the American proved slightly better 6-4 6-4.
It was not a largely competitive match as both players took the match as an exhibition. We saw a solid level from both but Alcaraz was clearly not at his best as he struggled to find a very good rhythm the entire match. It's his first dance on grass this year so it was expected.
He did not play at all after Roland Garros due to some elbow issues and his elbow was heavily wrapped in this one as well. It's not something unusual, he's had that wrap before, even last year. Tiafoe made sure that the match was fun with a lot of interesting rallies and for the most part, he proved better.
One break was all he needed in the opening set to win it 6-4 and the same thing happened in the 2nd set with one break being enough once more. Overall it was a fun experience for both players as they chatted during changeovers as well.
