Sinner and Brooksby to face in first Citi Open Washington semifinal

The first Citi Open Washington semifinal is set and it will be Jannik Sinner vs Jenson Brooksby.

Brooksby continued his stellar 2021 season with another sensational win. This around he faced John Millman and the American was once again too much of an opponent. Millman is a tricky player to beat with his counterpunching style and he rarely gets demolished.

Well, a demolition happened as Brooksby won 6-1 6-2 in only 67 minutes to secure a spot in the semifinal. The American is looking extremely strong at a crucial time in the year that might propel him very high in the rankings by years end.

He will face another young tennis sensation in the semifinal in Jannik Sinner. The Italian is slowly getting back into form on his favourite surface and he defeated Steve Johnson in the quarterfinal. It was a fairly comfortable win for Sinner who lost six games combined.

The 6-4 6-2 victory was a quick one signalling his forehand and generally, his aggressive playstyle was working and it will key that it continues. Brooksby is a fabulous shot maker and Sinner will need his A-game if he wants to beat the red-hot American in front of his native fans.
