Reflexes: 💯💯💯 @janniksin is back with a bang this week at the @Open13 💪
Jannik Sinner had to dig very deep in order to battle past and inspired Barrer at the Open 13 Provence in Marseille.
It was a spectacular match that saw two tennis players play on a very high level consistently with Jannik Sinner ultimately coming out on top. Barrere put forward an inspired effort and almost upset the Italian ace but Sinner was able to pull through. After the match he said:
"I think it was a tough match. Both of us played a high level. It was a long match. We both were quite consistent in every single part of our game and at the end of the day, in the third set, there was a little bit more pressure on both sides.
He continued by saying:
"He had to serve out the match. After a long match, that isn't easy, and I was [also] a break up. In the end, I'm very happy about my first-round match and obviously excited to play one more match."
The Italian youngster rarely shows emotion on the court but late in the set, he showed signs of visible frustration after losing a 4-2 lead. In the end, he was able to pull through earning himself another opportunity to play at the Open 13 Provence.
