Italy’s
Jannik Sinner had to deal with a bit of illness during
the
China Open quarterfinal against Grigor Dimitrov.
The 22-year-old won the last-eight tie of the competition with
a score of 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 on Monday.
While doing that, he had to deal with some sickness as he vomited
in the trash can and was weirdly recorded by the cameraman as well.
Sinner is now set to face the current world number two Spain’s
Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinal of the event on Tuesday.
The San Candido-born is often termed as one of the most highly-rated
young players in the men’s single tennis in the circuit.
Even though the current world number seven has not won a Grand
Slam in his career but pundits believe it is just a matter of time before he
will get his hands on the big one.
Sinner had a decent outing at the highest level this year
where despite starting slowly, he managed to gather the pace in the later half.
The highlight of the year for him came in Wimbledon where his
journey eventually ended in the semifinal when he lost to the current world number
one Serbia’s Novak Djokovic in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 6-4, 7-6.
