"So what do you do? Rap or play basketball?": Christopher Eubanks and James Blake recall their 'funny' racist experiences

American tennis star Christopher Eubanks recently engaged in some banter with retired tennis pro and compatriot Jake Blake, where both men exchanged their "funny" racist experiences.

Eubanks is experiencing a breakthrough season, having won his maiden ATP singles title at the 2023 Mallorca Open. After qualifying for his first Wimbledon event, the 27-year old defeated World No.4 Stefanos Tsitsipas at the grass court Major before losing to former World No.1 Daniil Medvedev in five sets.

A Twitter user recently urged people to share their 'funny' racist experiences, to which Eubanks and Blake responded with stories of their own.

"Guy walks up to me at a player party and THE FIRST words out of his mouth were “So what do you do? Rap or play basketball?," Eubanks wrote on Twitter.

Blake also replied to the tweet and recalled one of his "funny" racist experience. The 43-year old said that once, during a conversation with a foreman, the latter told him that he had assumed Blake was a drug dealer.

"I had a house being built right next to my house in CT. I had to ask the foreman to please stop jackhammering early as my infant was sleeping. He said “yeah, no problem. One of the guys told me who you are. I saw you driving in everyday and assumed you were a drug dealer,” wrote Blake.
