Andy Murray celebrated 700 career wins yesterday after he beat Taro Daniels at
Indian Wells, but he also gave fans a glimpse into his family life and revealed being a well-known tennis player can have its pitfalls.
The Scot has already achieved one of the goals he set out to accomplish when he made a return to the sport last year, one of which was to win 700 matches and the other which he is still yet to do is win 50 career titles but he currently sits on 46.
Murray is one of the most successful and renowned players in the world, he’s a two time Olympic champion, five time Australian Open winner and holder of nine Grand Slam titles all together, but this has recently turned quite embarrassing for the Scot because his eldest daughter is now aware of her dad’s status.
He said:
“I think they’re aware, my oldest one is aware, she’s now six, she
knows that – like sometimes she calls me Andy Murray, which I find
incredibly awkward. I’m like, ‘No, I’m daddy. I’m not Andy Murray, I’m daddy. She does it now to wind me up, she does it especially when she’s around her friends and stuff.”
