The draw is scheduled to take place at the ITF offices in London at 16:00 GMT on Thursday March 12, and will be livestreamed Daviscupfinals.com.
Following the completion of the Davis Cup qualifiers last week, the full list of participating nations was compiled. A total of 12 nations advanced after winning their respective qualifier ties. These teams will join the four 2019 Davis Cup semifinalists (Spain, Canada, Russia and Great Britain) and two wild cards (France and Serbia) to compete in the Davis Cup Finals, which will be held in Madrid from November 23-29 2020.
All 18 countries will be split into six groups of three, with Spain being the top seed due to their lifting the trophy in 2019. Canada, being 2019 runner-ups, will be seeded second with the other four highest-ranked nations (France, Croatia, USA and Serbia) seeded 3-6.
The other countries will be placed in either Pot 2 or Pot 3, based on their official Davis Cup Nations Ranking as of this week.

The Nations in Pot 1 will be placed in first position in groups A-F (with the No. 1 seed in Group A, No. 2 seed in Group B, No. 3 seed in Group C, and so on). The Nations in Pot 2 will be drawn randomly into the second position in each group. Finally, the Nations in Pot 3 will be drawn randomly into the third position in each group.
The six group winners and the two best-performing group runners-up will advance to the quarterfinals.
