Stefanos Tsitsipas came back to win against Jiri Lehecka in Rotterdam securing the final where he will play either Rublev or Auger-Aliassime.
The Greek started the match slow which allowed Lehecka to jump out to an early lead thanks to some early great shot-making. The Czech player played this event without any fear and the same thing happened in this match as he was able to take an early lead. After that, he was able to cruise and win the first set with 6-4 coming one set away from his first ATP final.
Tsitsipas adjusted well to his opponent in the 2nd set as the Greek player was winning his service games rather easily. He did not allow a single break point while forcing three on his opponent serve. The 3rd one he finally converted and it was a hugely important point because it was 5-4 for the Greek and it was a set point.
After winning the 2nd set with 6-4 Lehecka dropped off in overall level allowing Tsitsipas to take an early 3-0 lead in the decider. The Greek player was seeing the fruits of his patience with the Czech player far from his early level. After taking that decisive lead, Tsitsipas simply served out the match winning the final set with 6-2.
A good win for the Greek who will contest his first final in 2022. It's either going to be against Rublev or Auger-Aliassime.
