Stefanos Tsitsipas books Stockholm Open semi-final over Ymer

Mikael Ymer was unable to battle past Stefanos Tsitsipas as the Greek eased himself into the semi-final 7-5 6-3.

It was a fun and competitive match but unfortunately, the Swedish crowd did not get to see the highest-ranked native lpayer advance into the semi-final. Stefanos Tsitsipas once again proved better than Mikael Ymer winning for the 4th time against him.

Tsitsipas established control fairly quickly taking a 5-2 lead but he also allowed the Swedish player to battle back all the way to 5-5 making the first set interesting. He was unable to completely turn it around as Tsitsipas remained calm and finished off the opening set 7-5.

Both were quite aggressive and hit plenty of winners but Tsitsipas was unable to create many free points with his serve hitting zero aces in the first set. He was a bit better in the second set but both of the toned down the aggressive style.

Tsitsipas was a bit more precise with his groundstrokes and he did enough to break Ymer once en route to the 6-3 finish. Another semi-final for Tsitsipas who is hoping to finally win a trophy again.
