Stefanos Tsitsipas outlasted Cristian Garin after a great battle under the Sun in Miami finsihing off the match in three sets 6-3 4-6 6-4.
The Greek player played a really solid match to take a much-improved Garin who struggled in the early goings of the season. Tsitsipas looks to be healing from his elbow injury as well as he earned a huge win for himself after a poor performance in Indian Wells. He admitted that he expects better results here and it looked really good in the first set.
He allowed Garin to take the initiative and it worked out in his favour when the Chilean took it a bit too far dropping his serve once. We saw more points played on the serve of Tsitsipas but he choose his spots better not allowing a single break point while Garin did and he didn't save it. 6-3 was the final score in the first with Garin taking the second 6-4.
It was a much better set from the Chilean as he dominated on his serve not allowing a single break point while creating a few chances on the serve of Tsitsipas. He used one of those to take the set blasting 18 winners in the process. The final set was pretty strong from both but once again Tsitsipas chose his spots better.
He was aggressive when he got the chance to break and it proved enough in the end. On his own serve, he didn't allow a single break point which was important.
